Your Gifts in Action

Florida’s public universities have been severely impacted over the past several years by substantial budget cuts. State funding for public universities in the 2009 - 2010 budget year was particularly devastating. Two significant impacts occurred during this time for FSU Panama City: a budget cut of 33% and the need to increase enrollment by over 40% to approximately 1,400 students by Fall 2012.

FUTURE IMPACT FOCUS

Enrollment Growth Initiative: One area in which the campus is particularly challenged is resources to support enrollment growth. The recruitment and marketing area for FSU Panama City has been expanded to include Escambia to Leon counties in Florida and the Alabama and Georgia tuition differential area. Private donations to the Enrollment Growth Initiative through the Campus Enrichment Fund will be utilized to support recruitment marketing and collateral items such as print materials and other supplies needed by recruiters in the field.

Academic Scholarships: As enrollment grows at FSU Panama City, there are growing numbers of students who simply will not be able to complete their degrees without financial assistance. Gifts to the FSU Panama City Endowed Scholarship Fund will help to ensure deserving students have the assistance needed to reach their dream of achieving a college degree.

Academic Program Support: Contributions to the Academic Excellence Fund will be utilized to support science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities at FSU Panama City such as the Summer STEM Institutes for middle and high school students and teachers.

FSU Panama City is extremely grateful to the many donors, business and community leaders, organizations, alumni and students who have stepped forward in the past and will do so in the future to support our campus and the students we serve. Especially during these challenging economic times, the impact of private support has never been more important to the success of FSU Panama City students.
