Each FSU PC student should regularly seek the assistance of an academic adviser. The adviser helps the student to understand the requirements for completion of a given degree program. The adviser can also help the student to schedule courses - those to be taken during the immediate semester as well as those to be taken in future terms. For a person who is considering applying to FSU PC, the adviser will answer questions regarding the preparatory courses necessary for admission to the program.
The adviser may also serve as a mentor to the student, helping the student to develop a professional identity, to plan a career, and to find employment.
Typically, the adviser is a resident faculty member who coordinates a degree program at FSU PC. In other cases, the adviser is a faculty member who is stationed in Tallahassee and who visits FSU PC periodically to meet with students.
