Degree Program Overview
The Master of Social Work degree program is designed to prepare students to enter advanced social work practice. The clinical social work concentration enables students to prepare themselves to provide direct psychosocial services to clients in a variety of community settings. The curriculum meets all requirements for licensure in the state of Florida after meeting eligibility requirements established by the Board of Clinical Licensure. An Advanced Standing program (39 hours) and a Traditional Program (61 hours) are offered. A social work degree is extremely marketable and allows graduates to work in many areas of social service delivery. With a Master’s degree, graduates can advance to supervisory and administrative positions within both public and private social service agencies.
Courses are offered in an evening or weekend format and are taught by full-time resident faculty and faculty from the College of Social Work in Tallahassee.
